Image: Business Wire. Germany-based EV charging and BESS integrator ADS-TEC Energy has installed eight units comprising a 20MW battery energy storage system (BESS) in Sweden. The large-scale storage containers have been deployed for project developer Polar Structure AB, in Haninge, near Stockholm last month.
October 10, 2023 All eight batteries are now in place at Stockholm Exergi and Polar Capacity’s battery park in Haninge. The park is one of Sweden’s largest, and when operational, it will add a total of 20 MW to the electrical system—a much-welcomed addition for a continued secure and reliable power supply in the Stockholm region.
In the latest expansion of its battery storage capacity, Axpo will build a 20 MW/20 MWh facility in Sweden to deliver services to the grid in 2024. Axpo acquired the project from developers RES and Scandinavian Capacity Reserve (SCR).
RES Nordics CEO, Matilda Afzelius, added: “Energy storage will play an increasingly important role across Sweden. RES has worldwide experience in battery storage projects and has delivered more than 500 MW to support a range of grid functions.
